Webinar: Swimway - Fish Without Borders: The Effects of Climate Change on Fish

Fish rely on a network of connected habitats and the ability to move between them throughout their lives. From spawning and nursery areas to feeding and overwintering grounds, connectivity is essential for fish to complete their life cycles. But a changing climate is altering the conditions they depend on, creating new pressures and ecological bottlenecks that can influence where fish live, how they move, and where they feed and reproduce. At the same time, changes in temperature and other environmental conditions can affect fish physiology and their ability to adapt.

So, what happens when climate change reshapes the conditions fish depend on throughout their lives?

The second webinar in the Fish Without Borders webinar series will explore how fish are responding to a changing climate, in the Wadden Sea and beyond. Experts will share research, experiences and perspectives on the ways climate change is influencing fish, their movements, their habitats and their life cycles.

The webinar is hosted by the Swimway Initiative, the Swimway Expert Group and the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS).
