Webinar: Swimway - Fish Without Borders
The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), together with fish experts from the Swimway Initiative and the Expert Group Swimway, is pleased to launch the Fish Without Borders webinar series, starting with a first webinar focusing on the fish tracking and telemetry in the Trilateral Wadden Sea. The webinar will showcase how innovative technologies are being used to better understand fish migration patterns, habitat use, and barriers to movement.
This series highlights the importance of ecological connectivity in the Wadden Sea, emphasizing the need for fish species to move freely across habitats in order to complete their life cycles. From spawning to feeding and migration, many fish depend on interconnected coastal, estuarine, and freshwater systems. Strengthening this connectivity is essential for maintaining health fish populations and resilient ecosystems across the Trilateral Wadden Sea.
